PMG Promotes Chad Greenbach, Chad Hawk and Adam Howerton to Vice Presidents of PMG Grading

The Certified Collectibles Group, which includes Paper Money Guaranty (PMG), is pleased to announce the promotions of Chad Greenbach, Chad Hawk and Adam Howerton to Vice Presidents of PMG Grading.

Chad Greenbach

Chad Greenbach’s marvel of numismatics began at the age of 7 with the gift of a blue Whitman folder for Lincoln Wheat Cents from his grandfather. As a young adult, paper money became his focus, and he has now been a serious collector for about 30 years, with particular interest in large size type US paper money from 1862-1923 and pre-1933 US gold coins.

His career in numismatic collectibles has spanned 20 years. Greenbach joined the Certified Collectibles Group as a paper money grader in 2015 at our Sarasota office, and went on to spearhead the building of a team of graders at CCG’s Shanghai location in 2017. He has now led the team for over six years, living and working for CCG in China.

“Even after almost nine years with PMG, I still can’t believe I found a job that pays me to play with old money,” Greenbach said.

Adam Howerton

Adam Howerton’s interest in collectibles was sparked by coin collecting with his dad (eventually earning the coveted Coin Collecting merit badge in Boy Scouts) and the boom of Pogs in the 1990s. He joined the PMG team in 2011 as a researcher with the duties of opening submissions and verifying bank notes, and quickly progressed in the company.

Over the years, Howerton has learned all aspects of the business and has been an instrumental team player during his tenure, traveling wherever he was needed and wearing many hats as PMG evolved. He is known throughout the company as a teammate of integrity, and a go-to people leader.

“I have been fortunate to learn from some incredible people, many of whom are still with the company today. Along the way, I was given the chance to push my limits, make mistakes, learn from them and — ultimately — grow alongside the company. That led to being honored with the responsibility of helping to lead elements of the PMG team,” Howerton noted.

Chad Hawk

Chad Hawk’s fascination with collecting began at the tender age of six when he bought an album at auction to begin casing what grew to over 300 Cal Ripken assorted baseball cards. From there, his focus evolved from various sports cards into paper money and music as a teenager. Upon finishing school, he began his professional career as a paper money grader when hired by PMG in 2005.

In those days, there were just four paper money graders. PMG was a small but growing company, and Hawk was instrumental in its development and maturation. He has traveled all over the globe, attending shows and working with the world’s largest collections and building relationships with influencers.
