Stunning Group of PMG-certified Solid-9 US Notes Part of May Sale

A complete collection of 12 Federal Reserve Notes with the Solid-9 Serial Number (lot 40393) may represent a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity in a sale by Stack’s Bowers. Released by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP), this 1995 premium set is certified by Paper Money Guaranty® (PMG®) and has an estimate of $100,000 to 150,000.

In 1995, the BEP released an exclusive, hardcover 24-page book highlighting the history of each Federal Reserve Bank and included a $10 Federal Reserve Note from each district. Only 2,000 premium sets were issued, with this particular set the last to be printed. Notes with Solid-9 Serial Numbers are especially elusive since the BEP no longer issues a high-range serial number for general circulation.
