A Group of Two PMG-certified Malaysia Notes Lead July Sale

Unique Auctions is offering hundreds of Southeast Asian rarities certified by PMG and NGC.

Over 400 collectibles certified by Paper Money Guaranty® (PMG®) and dozens more certified by Numismatic Guaranty Company™ (NGC®) are featured in a signature sale presented by Unique Auctions. Bidding is currently underway, with the sale concluding July 2-3, 2022.

A group of two colorful Malaysia banknotes are among the top offerings in the sale. The Malaysia, Bank Negara ND (1976-81) 50 Ringgit Specimen and Malaysia, Bank Negara ND (1981) 100 Ringgit Specimen are each graded PMG 67 Superb Gem Uncirculated EPQ (lot 333).

This lot has an estimate of RM80,000 to RM120,000 (about $18,100 to $27,200).

  • a Sarawak, Government of Sarawak 1940 10 Cents graded PMG 55 About Uncirculated EPQ (lot 676), which has an estimate of RM10,000 to RM20,000 (about $2,300 to $4,500)
  • a Malaysia, Bank Negara ND (1999) 1 Ringgit graded PMG 68 Superb Gem Uncirculated EPQ (lot 147), which has an estimate of RM10,000 to RM15,000 (about $2,300 to $3,400)
  • a China, Bank of China 1912 1 Dollar graded PMG 40 Extremely Fine (lot 706), which has an estimate of RM10,000 to RM15,000 (about $2,300 to $3,400)
  • a Malaysia, Bank Negara ND (1983-84) 10 Ringgit graded PMG 70★ Gem Uncirculated EPQ (lot 244), which has an estimate of RM5,000 to RM10,000 (about $1,100 to $2,300)
  • a China, Chartered Bank of India, Australia & China 1927-28 5 Dollars graded PMG 20 Very Fine (lot 707), which has an estimate of RM5,000 to RM7,000 (about $1,100 to $1,600)
  • a Macau 1973 100 Patacas Specimen graded PMG 66 Gem Uncirculated EPQ (lot 736), which has an estimate of RM4,000 to RM6,000 (about $900 to $1,400)
