Over 2,000 PMG-certified Notes in Upcoming Monetarium Auction

A Malaya and British Borneo rarity is the top PMG-graded lot.

Monetarium (Singapore) Private Limited, one of Asia's leading rare coin and banknote specialists, is presenting Auction 31, featuring rare coins graded by Numismatic Guaranty Company™ (NGC®) and banknotes graded by Paper Money Guaranty® (PMG®). Bidding is already underway for the auction, which is being held in four daily sessions, August 4-7, 2022.

The top banknote in this sale is a Malaya and British Borneo 1953 1,000 Dollars graded PMG 40 Extremely Fine (Day 4, lot 4563), with an estimate of SGD90,000 to SGD100,000 (about $64,000 to $71,000 USD).

Close behind is a Malaya and British Borneo 1953 $10,000 Specimen graded PMG 64 Choice Uncirculated NET (Day 4, lot 4561). It has an estimate of SGD80,000 to SGD90,000 (about $56,000 to $64,000 USD).

  • a group of three Brunei Color Trial Specimens (ND 1972-88 100 Ringgit, ND 1973-86 50 Ringgit and 1972-88 Ringgit), each graded PMG 67 Superb Gem Uncirculated EPQ (Day 1, lot 1761), with an estimate of SGD12,000 to SGD15,000 (about $8,500 to $10,600 USD)
  • a group of 10 consecutive Singapore 1992 $2 Replacement/Star Notes graded PMG 65 Gem Uncirculated EPQ to PMG 66 Gem Uncirculated EPQ (Day 1, lot 1562), with an estimate of SGD4,000 to SGD5,000 (about $2,800 to $3,500 USD)

  • a group of 10 Malaysia ND (1987) 1,000 Ringgits with consecutive serial numbers, all graded PMG 66 Gem Uncirculated EPQ (Day 4, lot 4300), with an estimate of SGD40,000 to SGD50,000 (about $28,000 to $35,000 USD)
