Spider-Man was first introduced in Amazing Fantasy #15 in 1962, and debuted under his own title, Amazing Spider-Man, in 1963. That series ran for 441 issues until it was relaunched as Vol. 2, beginning with a new issue #1 in 1999, and lasted 58 issues before it was renumbered under its legacy count to celebrate the 500th issue. Legacy numbering continued until #700 when the series ended in 2013 with the death of Peter Parker.

It was then relaunched as Superior Spider-Man, with Doctor Octopus in control of Spider-Man’s body, for 33 issues and then relaunched again with issue #1 of Amazing Spider-Man (Vol. 3) in 2014. That series lasted only 18 issues.

Of course, there will always be a Spider-Man series on the stands, and in 2015 he began a five-issue mini-series titled Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows. After it ended, Amazing Spider-Man (Vol. 4) began in 2015 with issue #1 and counted until issue #32, and then returned to legacy numbering to change issue #33 to issue #789. That series continued until issue #801 in 2018.

All of the comics mentioned above are included in this eBay sale, along with many other Spider-Man comics, and all of them are graded CGC 7.0 or better. Comics from Amazing Spider-Man (Vol. 1) #21 and up are graded CGC 8.0 or better. Comics from Amazing Spider-Man (Vol. 1) #51 are graded CGC 9.0 or better. Comics from Amazing Spider-Man (Vol. 1) #149 and up are all graded CGC 9.8.

This impressive set has an asking price of $1.5 million, though the eBay listing also includes an option to make an offer. Spider-man has cemented his place among the pantheon of superheroes with impressive auction results, including a CGC 9.6 copy of Amazing Fantasy #15 that sold for $3.6 million in 2021.
