Gene Colan

Gene Colan Master artist Gene Colan has drawn iconic comic characters such as Iron Man, Daredevil, Doctor Strange, Captain America, Dracula and many, many more. Gene’s artistic career officially started in 1944, drawing Wings Comics for Fiction House, before going on to draw for both Marvel and DC. Gene enjoyed and is well known for is his long runs on the Marvel title Tomb of Dracula with writer Marv Wolfman. Gene is probably best recognized by his fellow writers and artists for his ability to draw art in pencils that could be colored without inking.

John Romita Sr.

John Romita Sr John’s first credited comic book art was his pencil-and-ink work on the six-page story “The Bradshaw Boys” in Western Outlaws #1, published in 1954 by Marvel Comics. John later went on to take over the art duties of Amazing Spider-Man, which ran for five years, and he became known for his clean “soap operatic” style of illustrating. After being promoted to the position of art director for Marvel, John was involved in many of the new characters being developed by Marvel, including the Punisher and Wolverine.

Joe Simon

Joe SimonJoe Simon is best known as the creator of American icon Captain America. Joe has worked on every genre of comics, ranging from superheroes, crime, western and horror stories. His career began in 1932 at the Rochester Journal American before going on to work for both Marvel and DC.
