CGC to Attend Comic Book and Science Fiction Convention Beginning New Format With February 13th, 2005 Show

The Comic Book and Science Fiction Convention, the longest running monthly show in the US with over 300 consecutive monthly shows having been staged during a 28 year run, starts a new six times a year super show schedule in 2005 with double the guest speakers from the world of Comic Books and Films.

The Comic Book and Science Fiction Convention will be held at the Shrine Auditorium Expo Center, across the street from USC college on Sunday, February 13, 2005. Special Guests are SETH MACFARLANE, the creator of the animated series Family Guy and new show American Dad, JOHN ROMITA JR., Artist of Wolverine and Black Panther, Writers CRAIG KYLE, CHRISTOPHER KYLE, Artist BILLY TAN of the new Marvel Comic Book X-23, ETHAN VAN SCIVER, Artist for DC Comics popular mini-series Green Lantern Rebirth, and a very rare appearance by Movie Poster Artist DREW STRUZAN (STAR WARS, INDIANA JONES, HARRY POTTER, E.T.) who will sign all copies of his new art book DREW STRUZAN OEUVRE purchased at the Con. The book features 300 pages of reproductions of his movie posters and all facets of his artistic career. More Guests to be announced. CGC will also be making their first appearance at this show to take submissions.

Con Organizer Bruce Wayne Schwartz (no relation to Batman other than collecting the Comic Books) says this about the new super show approach, "The Con will continue to bring in great Guests from the world of Comic Books and Films during the six times a year schedule, just more of them, with only a minor increase in admission. And Dealers are receiving an incredible low table rate for a show with this kind of quality line up of Guests." The Con has featured through the years some of the great talents of the Comic Book world, such as Bob Kane, Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, Jack Kirby, Jerry Robinson, Al Feldstein, Don Heck, Jim Steranko, Stan Lee, and many, many more. The Con has also hosted a large number of Film related Guests such as Arnold Schwarzenegger, Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Daryl Hannah, Jackie Chan, Jet Li, Jessica Biel, Michelle Yeoh, David Boreanaz, Gary Oldman, Christian Bale, Matt LeBlanc, Tim Burton, Sam Raimi, and John Woo. But the real star of The Con is the Dealers Room, which features a wide variety of merchandise such as Comic Books, Toys, Action Figures, Hong Kong, China Action Movies on DVD, and more. Dealers such as Harley Yee, Terry's Comics, and Comic Book Warehouse will have a selection of Gold, Silver, and Bronze Age Comic Books for sale.
