This June, the premier event for numismatic education in the US will be held for the 50th year, and a consultant with Numismatic Guaranty Corporation® (NGC®) will be among the experts teaching courses there.

Jeff Garrett

Jeff Garrett will be one of the instructors to present the course Advanced United States Coin Grading & Problem Coins at the annual Summer Seminar held by the American Numismatic Association (ANA) in Colorado Springs, Colorado, June 15 to 27. Garrett’s course will be held during the second session of the ANA Summer Seminar, June 22 to 27.

Founded in 1891, the ANA is the only coin collecting organization chartered by the US Congress. NGC, the world’s largest third-party coin grading service, has been the official grading service of the ANA since 1995.

Garrett is a consultant to NGC, writes for NGC’s Weekly Market Report, is the most recent past president of the ANA and is senior editor of “A Guide Book of United States Coins,” also known as the Red Book, the most important reference for collectors of US coins.

He has been studying and collecting coins since receiving a Lincoln Cent board in 1969 and has attended every ANA convention since 1974. Over the course of his career, Garrett has dealt with nearly every United States rarity

In addition to serving as editor of the Red Book, Garrett has written many of today’s most popular numismatic books, including "Encyclopedia of U.S. Gold Coins 1795–1933: Circulating, Proof, Commemorative, and Pattern Issues;" "100 Greatest U.S. Coins;" and "United States Coinage: A Study By Type."

The ANA Summer Seminar is held on the campus of Colorado College, near the ANA’s headquarters. Learn more at money.org
