Lot of 20 PMG-certified Malaysian Notes May Realize Over $100,000

A lot containing a group of 20 Paper Money Guaranty® (PMG®)-certified Malaysian 50-Ringgit notes with fancy serial numbers is being offered at an auction in Malaysia.

The group of undated (1981-83) Fourth Series notes graded PMG 64 Choice Uncirculated to PMG 66 Gem Uncirculated EPQ has an estimate set by the Trigometric auction house of 400,000 to 650,000 Malaysian Ringgit (about $95,000 to $155,000 USD). It is part of Malaysia and World Banknotes and Coins Auction 10, for which bidding ends October 24, 2019.

Serial numbers include the low numbers 000001 to 000010, while others are solid serial numbers 111111, 222222, 333333, 444444, 555555, 666666, 777777, 888888 and 999999. The remaining note’s serial number is 1000000.

Trigometric will hold the auction of rare banknotes and coins at the Hilton Petaling Jaya in Selangor, near Kuala Lumpur, and online at LiveAuctioneers.com.
