PMG Named Official Grading Service of the Paper Money Forum

The popular online message board has selected PMG, the world’s largest third-party paper money grading service, to be its official grading service.

Paper Money Guaranty® (PMG®) has been named the Official Grading Service of Paper Money Forum, a popular website where paper money collectors exchange ideas and information.

Paper Money Forum, found at PaperMoneyForum.com, has nearly 700 registered members with more than 345,000 posts on more than 36,000 topics. Many more people — 4,000 to 5,000 internet addresses that aren’t members — use the site each month, says Johnathan Burris, the Tulsa, Oklahoma, businessman who founded the site in September 2016 and continues to own and operate it.

“The forum contains large amounts of data and information that can’t be found anywhere else,” Burris added, “and it is our mission to preserve that information for the hobby and the communities’ use. All the information comes from the community and it is free to access regardless of membership.”

“The Paper Money Forum is honored to be affiliated with PMG, a third-party paper money grading service well known for its expertise, high ethical standards and dedication to the hobby,” Burris said.

“For years, Paper Money Forum has provided a virtual gathering place where paper money collectors and dealers can share their insights and enthusiasm for their hobby,” said Mark Salzberg, Chairman of PMG. “We are really pleased to collaborate with it.”

PMG has graded more than 4.5 million notes since it was formed in 2005 to provide expert and impartial certification services for paper money. It is headquartered in Sarasota, Florida, and has branch offices in London, Munich, Hong Kong, China and Shanghai. It also has a global network of Official Submission Centers, Strategic Partners and Authorized Dealers.

Paper Money Forum is the latest entity to name PMG its official grading and conservation services. Others include:

  • The American Numismatic Association (ANA), the distinguished coin collecting organization chartered by the US Congress.
  • The Professional Numismatists Guild (PNG), a respected US dealer organization.
  • Karamitsos International Auctions, a well known Greece-based auction house.
  • The Macau, China Numismatic Society (MNS), which was established in 1988 to serve the coin and paper money collecting communities in the Chinese Special Administrative Region.
  • VCoins, a major online retailer for US, world and ancient coins and paper money.
