NGC-certified Coins from Around the World Featured in Japan Sale

Auction World, a prestigious Japanese numismatics firm, is offering hundreds of rare coins certified by Numismatic Guaranty Corporation® (NGC®) in its Auction 23 in Tokyo on January 16-18, 2021. Bidding is already underway for the sale that showcases many NGC-certified rarities, including nine of the top 10 lots.

At center stage is a 1876A Greece 100 Drachmai graded NGC MS 60, with a starting price of JPY 6,000,000 (about $58,100 USD). It depicts King George I, who ruled for half a century starting in 1863. The NGC Census shows only three examples of this coin, and only one finer.

• a Spain 1847M Silver Pattern 20 Reales graded NGC PF 63, with a starting price of JPY 5,000,000 (about $48,400 USD)

• an Austria 1638 10 Ducat graded NGC UNC Details, with a starting price of JPY 4,000,000 (about $38,700 USD)

• a China 1921 Gold Dollar (L&M-1093) graded NGC MS 62, with a starting price of JPY 3,500,000 (about $33,900 USD)
• a Roman Empire, Septimius Severus (AD 193-211) Gold Aureus graded NGC Ancients AU, 5/5 Strike and 4/5 Surface, with a starting price of JPY 3,500,000 (about $33,900 USD)
• a US 1915-S Panama-Pacific Octagonal $50 graded NGC UNC Details, with a starting price of JPY 3,500,000 (about $33,900 USD)
• a Greece 1935(1940) Gold 100 Drachmai graded NGC PF 65 Ultra Cameo, with a starting price of JPY 3,000,000 (about $29,000 USD)
• a Germany 1698 GFN Nurnberg 6 Ducat graded NGC MS 62, with a starting price of 2,000,000 JPY (about $19,400 USD)
