NGC Announces Updates for Submissions of Tokens and Medals

To provide the best customer experience, including the fastest possible turnaround times, Numismatic Guaranty Corporation® (NGC®) has updated its grading tier requirements for tokens and medals.

Effective May 13, 2021, tokens and medals issued before 1990 must be submitted under the Economy grading tier or higher. Tokens and medals issued 1990 to present can be submitted under the Modern grading tier or higher.

Any tokens or medals issued 1965 to present (no patterns, die trials, etc.) will be accepted in the Modern tier if the submission is delivered prior to May 13, 2021. (The submission must also fall within the maximum value requirement.)

New submission forms and price sheets will be available for download on the NGC website on May 26, 2021. If you have any questions, please contact NGC Customer Service.

Note: Esoteric pieces, particularly those submitted without documentation, may not be encapsulated and instead returned as Ineligible Type.
