NGC-certified World Coins Highlight Polish Auction

Hundreds of rare NGC-graded coins are included in a June sale presented by Antykwariat Numizmatyczny.

A stunning trio of Polish gold coins, along with other world rarities certified by Numismatic Guaranty Corporation® (NGC®), are offered in the upcoming Antykwariat Numizmatyczny Auction 29. Bidding is currently underway for all four sessions, which are being held June 26-29, 2021.

At center stage in the sale are three low-mintage gold coins commemorating famous people from Polish history. A Poland 1990Z Fryderyk Chopin 500,000 Zlotych graded NGC PF 68 Ultra Cameo (session 2, lot 2466) has a starting price of 40,000 PLN (about $11,000 USD). This rarity, celebrating the Polish composer and virtuoso pianist, is one of only three recorded in the NGC Census.

Two other Poland Gold 500,000 Zlotych coins also are being offered. A Jozef Pilsudski commemorative graded NGC PF 66 Ultra Cameo (session 2, lot 2467) celebrates the first chief of state of the newly independent Poland after World War I. A Tadeusz Kosciuszko commemorative graded NGC PF 65 Ultra Cameo (session 2, lot 2468) honors the Polish-Lithuanian military leader who fought in the late 18th century. Both also have starting prices of 40,000 PLN (about $11,000 USD).

Only 16 of each of these coins were minted according to the auction house.

Other NGC-certified world coins that are being offered in the June sale include:

  • a Poland 1629 Taler graded NGC XF 45 (session 1, lot 536) with a starting price of 25,000 PLN (about $6,900 USD)
  • a Poland 1812 IB Ducat graded NGC MS 62 (session 1, lot 806) with a starting price of 18,000 PLN (about $5,000 USD)
  • a China 1995 Gold 50 Yuan Panda graded NGC MS 68 (session 4, lot 5037) with a starting price of 17,000 PLN (about $4,700 USD)
  • a Poland 1925 Silver 5 Zlotych graded NGC AU Details (session 2, lot 2325) with a starting price of 15,000 PL (about $4,000 USD)
  • a Germany 1857 F Saxony Krone graded NGC MS 60 (session 4, lot 5158) with a starting price of 8,000 PLN (about $2,200 USD)
  • a Germany 1873B Hamburg 10 Marks graded NGC AU Details (session 4, lot 5209) with a starting price of 6,000 PLN (about $1,600 USD)
  • a Germany 1547 Leuchtenberg Taler graded NGC AU 58 (session 4, lot 5118) with a starting price of 2,000 PLN (about $550 USD)

All starting prices are provided by the auction house.
