NGC and PMG Experts Share Insight in Videos for the Festival of Coins

Posted on 10/2/2021

NGC’s David W. Lange and PMG’s Colin Blyth discussed what numismatics can teach us about history and answered questions in the recent virtual conference.

Two experts with Numismatic Guaranty Company™ (NGC®) and Paper Money Guaranty® (PMG®) offered video presentations and answered questions at the 2021 Festival of Coins, which was held virtually September 18-25, 2021. Each expert offered a 30-minute presentation followed by a 30-minute question-and-answer session.

David W. Lange, NGC Research Director, gave a presentation titled "Similarities and Differences in US and UK Coinage." The presentation was designed to give collectors a solid understanding of the links between US and UK coinage, from the dawn of the American colonies to the coins of the 19th and 20th centuries.

A coin enthusiast for more than 50 years, Lange is the author of 10 books on United States numismatics and has received the American Numismatics Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award and Numismatist of the Year honors. He made the presentation via video from NGC's world headquarters in Sarasota, Florida.

Blyth has been a paper money collector for more than 20 years and has a Master's of Business Administration from Queen's University in Canada. Blyth made his presentation via video from PMG's world headquarters in Sarasota, Florida.
